How is the price worked out?

From the area of your piece and a rate for the skill level the AI sees in the photo, adjusted for medium and surface. You see each step, and you can add your hours and material costs.

Is it an appraisal?

No. It is a suggested starting price for selling your own original work. Masterpiece price tags show public sale records and insured values, not appraisals.

What is free, and what does Gold add?

Your first AI scan or price is free, and that first price shows what you keep on every channel. After that, watch a short ad for another (up to 5 a day) or go Gold. Gold removes the ads and adds what you keep on Etsy, eBay and galleries, print prices and a commission price sheet. Gold is monthly, or yearly with a 7-day free trial.
